On Willis Hart Lying About What The Black Lives Matter Movement Is Protesting About

The following from Wikipedia sums up what the focus of the Black Lives Matter movement is.

Black Lives Matter (BLM) is an international activist movement, originating in the African American community, that campaigns against violence toward black people. BLM regularly organizes protests around the deaths of black people in killings by law enforcement officers, and broader issues of racial profiling, police brutality, and racial inequality in the United States criminal justice system. (Wikipedia/Black Lives Matter).

I bring this up because the Libertarian blogger Willis Hart, while he has put up quite a few posts on his blog about BLM, CLEARLY does not understand why the movement exists.

Willis Hart: On Black Lives Mattering... There's never been an argument from me. IN FACT, being that the black murder rate is fully 6 times that of whites (17.5 per 100,000 versus 2.6 per 100,000) with the perpetrators being 93% other black people, I'm actually quite insulted that this bullshit is being placed not just at my doorstep but the law enforcement community's, too... STOP BLOWING YOUR FUCKING BRAINS OUT (much of it over foolishness; half-eaten Snickers bars, Air Jordan sneaks, some big-butted heifer, a slight, etc.), PEOPLE. BLACK LIVES MATTER!!!!!! (11/18/2015 AT 5:07pm).

What Willis claims is being "placed at his [and law enforcement's] doorstep" - IS NOT! The movement is not protesting in regards to ALL Black deaths, but ONLY Black deaths caused by law enforcement, you dolt! Although, calling Willis a dolt implies that he's simply being an oblivious White guy in not getting what the focus of BLM is.

The other possibility is that he's lying. A possibility I'm not ruling out. I mean, I think they've been QUITE clear that what they're protesting is the police killing Black people (as well as brutality directed against African Americans), and not Black (criminal) civilians killing other Black civilians. Sure, that's an issue as well, but law enforcement is supposed to enforce the law, not break it! Whereas criminals breaking the law is to be expected.

Yes, Willis is correct about the murder rate in the Black community being higher than in the White community, but I'd argue that is a symptom of the problem. That racism is the cause of the murder rate being higher, in that racism is a factor in that racism causes poverty which in turn leads to more crime.

BTW, Black criminals killing other Black people is (1) not something the Black community at large can be blamed for, and (2) something that makes perfect sense, as PolitiFact points out according to "experts... most people - whether black or white - are murdered by people in their own racial group, and that has held true for decades".

Black murderers mostly target Black victims JUST AS White murderers mostly target White victims. This is to be expected. And, in refutation of the point Willis thinks he is making, the BLM movement is NOT placing the blame for these murders on him or on law enforcement!

The ONLY "bullshit" the BLM movement is placing on the law enforcement community is holding them accountable for the Black suspects they kill (and brutalize). And I genuinely think there is a problem here, given the fact that a Black person is 300 percent more likely to be killed by a police officer than a White person.

Willis Hart, as an oblivious White guy (who flatly denies that White privilege even exists) is "offended" by the suggestion that cops killing Black suspects is a problem. In fact he lies (or misunderstands... yeah, right) about why BLM exists - which is something that OFFENDS ME!

I mean, if Willis wants to criticize BLM on a factual basis, that's one thing. But for him to put forward this lame strawman is pure bullshit, I think. Yet another example of how the strawman-loving Hartster is full of it.

Racist Liar Willis Hart Places Offensive Word "Coon" In Black Mouths, Even Though No Black Person Would Use It In The Context He Says They're Using It In

Referring to prominent Black men he doesn't like (Black men whose professions place them in the public eye) as "minstrels" is something the Libertarial blogger Willis Hart has been doing for awhile. Now he's begun using the slur "coon", or "cooning". Although he SAYS it's Black people who are using this slur against other Blacks.

Willis Hart: On the Fact that in Certain Segments of the Black Community, Helping Your Children with Their Homework is Considered "Cooning"/"Acting White"... That's a huge problem, folks (and not one that is likely to be ameliorated by a 127th federal welfare/giveaway program). (10/20/2015 AT 4:40pm.

According to Willis, we should absolutely not be helping poor African Americans with a "127th federal welfare/giveaway program" because they're hurting themselves by telling their children education is bad. Problem is, Willis' claim is largely false.

The "Acting White" Myth: Karolyn Tyson, a sociologist at the University of NC at Chapel Hill, and William Darity Jr, an economist at Duke and U.N.C., coordinated an 18-month ethnographic study at 11 schools in North Carolina. What they found was that black students basically have the same attitudes about achievement as their white counterparts do: they want to succeed, understand that doing well in school has important consequences in later life and feel better about themselves the better they do. (12/12/2004 NYT article by Paul Tough).

More often it is the case, according to the study, that it is the teachers who will use this as an excuse to explain why Black students aren't doing as well as White students. Although some underperforming African American students may use it to describe their more successful peers. This is akin to "jocks" making fun of "nerds".

That Willis claims the problem is "huge" when it isn't is further proof of the dude's racist proclivities, IMO. I mean, Willis frequently bashes Black people on his blog. The commentary cited above being just one example.

Here is another.

Willis Hart: On the Fact that in Some Segments of the Pro-Black Community Folks Like Dr. Carson Are Seen as Coons but Others Who Are Far More Buffoonish in Their Behavior Such as Nicki Minaj (or Worse Yet Those Rioters and Looters in Baltimore Who Burnt Down the Senior Center, that CVS, etc.) Are Given a Pass and Even Praised... That's big problem, folks, a real big problem. The fact that Ben Carson, say what you want about his politics, is an acclaimed pediatric neurosurgeon and exactly the type of person that young black people SHOULD be emulating and not some twerking, talentless, offensive bimbo... (10/6/2015 AT 10:08pm).

To this assertion I say "bullshit". Educated Black folks, or Black individuals who are working seriously on their education are not referred to as "coons" by "some segments of the pro-Black community".

...among black people, it ["coon"] has a completely different... meaning. When a white person calls someone a "coon", they are slurring all black people... In the historical racist context of the USA, the coon was/is portrayed as a lazy, easily frightened, chronically idle, inarticulate, buffoon whose sole purpose in life is too amuse those in the dominant society. The coon was/is labeled as a childish adult; albeit a good-for-little adult. ... within the black community... "Coonery" [applies when] poor Blacks embarrass bourgeoisie Blacks. (Ivy League Professor Didn't Actually Call Ben Carson "Coon of the Year" by Tommy Christopher. Mediaite 10/7/2015).

The word, when used within the Black community (a Black person referring to another Black person) has the EXACT OPPOSITE meaning than the one Willis says it does. An unintelligent Black person might be a "coon" and NOT an intelligent Black person. So what Willis claims (in both of his posts) is obviously false. I don't know if Willis got his info from some Conservative website (or if he just made it up), but it is baloney.

No Black parents are saying that helping your children with their homework is "cooning". Nobody within the "pro-Black community" thinks that Ben Carson is a "coon" because he is an acclaimed pediatric neurosurgeon.

Both of these assertions are flat-out bullplop, as well as examples of the Hartster's racism. In that he's victim-blaming (something Conservatives like Willis excel at) as well as stuffing a slur (coon/cooning) into the mouths of Black people (who he has insulting other Blacks) which they would never use in that context.

As for some "Ivy League Professor" supposedly calling Ben Carson a "Coon" (referred to in the title of the Mediaite story I quote above)... Yes, the professor, Anthea Butler, is an African American, and, yes, she did tweet a sentence containing the word "coon" as well as Ben Carson's name.

But she was not calling Ben Carson a "coon". The tweet in question, "If only there was a coon of the year award", was in response to Carson saying he would be OK with NASCAR fans flying the Confederate flag on private property. The tweet was wondering how he'd react if there was a "coon of the year" award (held on private property, presumably). Would Carson say that was OK too?

I bring this up because this MIGHT be the incident Willis was referring to. The Black professor might be a member of the "segment" of the "Pro-Black Community" which Willis was referring to. The Conservative media reportedly feigned outrage in regards to this tweet, spinning it in a manner that makes me think that this incident was quite likely what Willis is referring to. But it never happened, as I already pointed out.

So, in addition to being quite racially biased, What this shows, I think, is that Willis consumes a lot of Conservative media and readily buys into whatever BS Nooz they spin. Perhaps because he is a "strident right wing leaning mouthpiece" as a fellow Libertarian-voting blogger recently described him?

Yeah, I think there is a lot of truth to this statement. Especially in regards to Hart's WND-ish bashing of the Black community. For example, the dude actually cites Colin Flaherty's "disturbing volume", White Girl Bleed a Lot in one of his commentaries. How this book plays to the fears of White racists isn't what finds distrubing, BTW. The book is "disturbing", IMO, because of how good a job it does in reinforcing his anti-Black bigotry.

On Willis Hart's Focus On Baltimore Rioting Whilst Not Mentioning Why Rioting Is Taking Place

Thus far Libertarian blogger Willis Hart has authored Two commentaries on the riots in Boston... and ZERO commentaries concerning the reason why the African American community is upset... and why SOME are rioting. Despite the fact that the officers involved in the death of Freddie Gray have have been criminally charged.

On May 1, 2015, state prosecutors in Baltimore received a medical examiner's report ruling Gray's death a homicide. Prosecutors also said that his arrest was illegal because the alleged switchblade was a legal-sized pocket knife. The prosecutors stated that they had probable cause to file criminal charges against the six police officers who were believed to be involved in his death. One officer was charged with second degree depraved-heart murder, and others were charged with crimes ranging from manslaughter to illegal arrest (Source: Wikipedia).

Yet neither of Willis' two commentaries even mention WHY people are rioting. Nor does Willis (or any of his commenters) speak of the murder of Freddie Gray in either of the discussion threads.

Not in this one from 4/29/2015.

Willis Hart: On those Miscreants, Degenerates, and Lunatics Who Burnt Down the Senior Center in Baltimore It really doesn't get much lower than that, now does it? I mean, what are these schmucks gonna start doing next; pistol-whipping foster-children? Beheading the developmentally-delayed? (4/29/2015 AT 5:02pm).

Nor in this one from 4/20/2015.

Willis Hart: On the Riots Currently Taking Place in Baltimore... Sorry, but I'm having a hard time envisioning Ed Koch or the first Mayor Daley putting up with this crappola. (4/20/2015 AT 8:04pm).

Strangely, however, Willis did comment concerning the deaths of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown and Eric Garner. In those instances he blamed the victim (Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown were definitely responsible for their own deaths in his mind while Eric Garner shared responsibility with NY mayor Bill De Blasio... yeah, really!).

But, in regards to the two recent cases in which the cop (or cops) involved were charged? Willis completely ignored the case of Walter Scott, who was shot by officer Michael Slager - as the unarmed Scott ran away. And, in regards to Freddie Gray - well, I already showed how he responded to that murder. He ignored it and focused on the riots (as if they happened for no reason at all other than Black criminality).

Willis Hart Contra O'Reilly comment concerning Trayvon Martin from 7/17/2013.

Willis Hart: Not only is there reasonable doubt in this case, most of the evidence points to the fact that this was a political and malicious prosecution [of George Zimmerman]. (7/17/2013 AT 10:36am).

Willis Hart Libertas and Latte comment concerning Michael Brown from 1/23/2015.

Willis Hart: Multiple BLACK witnesses corroborated Wilson's version of the story. As did the forensics. The sad fact here is that Brown was a thug who robbed a convenience store, punched a cop in the face, and tried to take his weapon and that stories such as this never seem to end well unfortunately. (1/23/2015 AT 7:58pm).

Willis Hart Contra O'Reilly comment concerning Eric Garner from 12/27/2014.

Willis Hart: And, yes, he bears a huge amount of the responsibility for his death; some big fat fuck with asthma putting himself in a stressful situation. (12/27/2014 AT 10:23am).

See a pattern here? It's that Willis only comments on the killing of a young Black man when (in his mind) it's justifiable to blame the victim and/or defend the shooter/killer. In cases where it's obvious the cops might be guilty of murder (because of video evidence and/or excessive injuries)... then we get complete silence from Willis. Or he ignores the killings and focuses on the aftermath. Like his last two posts calling out rioters as "miscreants, degenerates and lunatics" and suggesting that the cops should get tough.

Although, unlike his buddy Rusty Shackelford, Willis does not say how the cops should respond, saying only "I'm having a hard time envisioning Ed Koch or the first Mayor Daley putting up with this crappola".

Rusty Shackelford: Fuck the tear gas... Fuck the rubber bullets... Fuck the bean bag's... Load up with live ammo and chop about 100 of these animals down... this shit would end in a hurry. (4/27/2015 AT 7:06pm from the blog "Who's Your Daddy").

No, Willis would absolutely not agree with his friend Rusty concerning his suggested mass murder of Black "animals". But I'm thinking these two do share some of the same racial prejudices.

Willis Hart: I like Rusty the same way I like Don Rickles and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. He amuses me (7/29/2008 AT 8:49pm)

Sorry Willis, but I could never say that I "like" a racist scumbag like Shackelford. Yeah, that Shackelford comment is from another blog and Willis probably didn't see it, but Shackelford has made his racist proclivities known on Willis' blog. They don't bother Willis because he SHARES them. To a much lesser degree (I'd say Shackelford is a hardcore racist, while Willis only has strong racial biases), but yeah, I think the above shows a distinct pattern.

I am, for the record, absolutely NOT saying the rioters did not break the law or that they should not be held accountable. They did and they should. If the rioters can be identified they should be charged and convicted of appropriate crimes. An opinion the liar Willis implies I disagree with.

Willis Hart: On Rioting... There is never an excuse for it - PERIOD!!!(5/2/2015 AT 10:26am)

No, there is no excuse, but there is understanding why some could get frustrated to the point where they would do such a thing (although I will concede that for SOME, an excuse to grab free stuff might be a factor). As Shaw Kenawe of Progressive Eruptions pointed out on her blog with a quote from MLK... "A riot is the language of the unheard".

The trouble with Willis is that he doesn't understand the concept of institutional racism, as this just added commentary from his blog clearly illustrates.

Willis Hart: On Pronouncing People Guilty Prior to Having All the Evidence... It is only something that a sick, idiotic, ineducable, and ill-informed asshole would do. Yes, those cops in Baltimore (three of whom are black, btw) quite possibly did something wrong but not everybody who gets indicted is guilty (just ask the ham sandwich) and that's why we have a trial and refrain from shooting people on a whim a la Lenin, Stalin, Hussein, al Qaeda, etc. (5/2/2015 AT 10:42am).

OK, so Willis finally breaks his silence, but he does so to DEFEND THE COPS that are responsible for Freddie Gray's death! Un-freaking-believable! And he still does not mention WHO these cops *might* be guilty of causing the death of. And he makes a point of mentioning that two of the cops are Black (overlooking/discounting institutional racism).

And I assume the Hartster is referring to me, but I NEVER "pronounced" anyone guilty. I made my opinion known as to these cop's guilt (and I think it's pretty clear they are guilty so I don't know HOW THE HELL Willis can defend them). But an opinion is not a "pronouncement". Nobody can be pronounced guilty until there is a trial. And, no, it does not matter if any of the cops were Black (institutional racism, look it up).

Obvious guilt, and this racially biased jackass is concerned about people "pronouncing... when the ACTUAL pronouncing (by a judge and jury) has yet to occur. And he speaks of "refraining from shooting people on a whim"... in reference to the murdering cops! Yeah, maybe the cops should do that, Willis! Refrain from severing people's spines too. As for these cops, they will have their day in court. Unlike Freddie Gray... who didn't even do anything for which the police had cause to arrest him, given that the knife he was carrying was legal.

On Willis Hart Using Someone's Weight To Denigrate Them & Referring to An Overweight Person As A "Fat Fuck"

Most recently in regards to Liberal documentary filmmaker Michael Moore.

Willis Hart: On Fat, Stupid Michael Moore Denigrating American Sniper/War Hero, Chris Kyle, Calling Him a Coward... I can't even look at this asshole anymore... And did you see how he tried to back away from it once the shit hit the fan, saying that wasn't actually talking about Kyle? I mean, come on. (1/19/2015 AT 9:31pm).

What the hell does Mr. Moore's weight have to do with his tweets in response to the release of the movie "American Sniper"? Absolutely nothing. Willis is one of those people who judges people based on appearance. An incredibly shallow and vain person, in other words.

As for what Mr. Moore said about snipers I say "eh". He has a point. Chris Kyle killed a lot of people, some of them innocent. Although it was ex-preznit bush who illegally invaded Iraq. So, I'd say we shouldn't have even been there. Or Afghanistan. Then CK wouldn't have killed anyone.

But, naturally the Rightwing is going crazy over comments such as Mr. Moore's in regards to this film by the Republican Clint Eastwood (he who embarrassed himself at the GOP convention by talking to an empty chair).

The film is a "pro-War on Terror masterpiece" according to an article on the Breitbart site.

Yikes! I haven't seen it, but if that is an accurate description that I'd have to agree with Seth Rogan... who tweeted that he thought it had some similarity to a Nazi propaganda film (specifically the film within the film "Inglourious Basterds").

Although I've also heard the movie described as an account of the effects of war on soldiers... Kyle did feel guilt over those he'd killed and suffered from PTSD (I think, although I'm not positive).

My guess is that the Rightwing will read into the movie what they want. Although perhaps the Breitbart description is accurate given who the director is. Although some on the Left say the film shows the horrors of war and the effects of it on our soldiers... and thus is anti-war. But Breitbart claims that the movie is NOT anti-Iraq war... this is something the author of the article says the Left lies about.

That said, I haven't seen it, nor am I that familiar with Kyle's story. But I do find it odd that Willis refers to Kyle as a "war hero", given his claims of being "anti-war".

Anyway, on to the second example of Willis denigrating someone based on their weight. This time with a particularly vile (and profane) slur directed at the murdered Eric Garner (SWTD #275).

Willis Hart: he bears a huge amount of the responsibility for his death; some big fat fuck with asthma putting himself in a stressful situation (12/27/2015 AT 10:23am).

Geez... really, Willis? This guy is becoming increasingly foul-mouthed and more often than not aligning himself with the Right... this despite him believing he is an "independent". Here he's agreeing with the likes of NY Rep Peter King, who blamed Garner for his own death. Although Willis also laughly and idiotically blames politicians who support the cigarette tax.

Blaming the victim, fat shaming, and using profane language to refer to a dead man? Proof positive that Willis Hart is a piece of shit. Or, he's absolutely a piece of shit... in my book.

On The Cop Arrested For Murder Because His Murdering Was Caught On Video While Willis Hart Predictably, Shamelessly & Moronically Ignores It

It's funny how Willis' Islamaphobic grandstanding can often backfire. I refer to the South Carolina officer who was charged with murder of Walter Scott.

NYT: A white police officer in North Charleston, S.C., was charged with murder on Tuesday after a video surfaced showing him shooting in the back and killing an apparently unarmed black man while the man ran away. The officer, Michael T. Slager, 33, said he had feared for his life because the man had taken his stun gun in a scuffle after a traffic stop on Saturday. A video, however, shows the officer firing eight times as the man, Walter L. Scott, 50, fled. (South Carolina Officer Is Charged With Murder of Walter Scott by Michael S. Schmidt and Matt Apuzzo. 4/7/2015).

So, this time it's on tape. And the cop is also seen walking back to where the altercation began - and where he dropped his taser - picking it up and walking back to the dying Scott and dropping it near his body.

If not for the videotape you KNOW this cop would have gotten away with this obvious murder. Given he gave the standard response that he "feared for his life". If a cop claims that... well, then the shooting is justified no matter what.

Something else we know is that if there were no videotape? Willis will defend the shooter, same as he defended the murders of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown. Although, even with video Willis STILL defended the White cop who choked Eric Grant. In this case the a-hole had the balls to attack the victim with some "fat shaming" regarding his weight.

Willis Hart: Note to Fat Asthmatics... Ixnay on resisting arrest. (2/4/2014 AT 2:40am).

And then the dumbass said "I agree that he was a victim (to a certain degree), ...but not of the cops. He was a victim of the greedy politicians who've put such a draconian tax on tobacco".

It's Willis' view that the cops were not to blame because smoking isn't bad for you, so it's those who "forced" the cops to uphold the law against selling untaxed cigs that are to blame. Also, being overweight is bad for you. No, wait. Willis probably acknowledges those things are bad but does not believe that the State should do anything to dissuade people from smoking. As a Libertarian Willis believes in a person's "liberty" to engage in bad behaviors... even if there is a cost to society.

Which is why cigarettes are taxed, by the way. To discourage people from smoking. "Greedy politicians" aren't a factor. In any case, the point is that Willis always believes the cop doing the killing and not the victim. Which is why he has been totally silent thus far regarding this recent killing. Because the cop can't be defended in light of the videotape.

Or, Willis has not said anything YET in regards to this recent murder of an unarmed Black man. He might say something and he might come out against the cop. I have my doubts, however, given his track record.

Which brings me to my motivation for authoring this commentary - it's that the moronic Willis has written a number of commentaries in which he predictably and shamelessly claims that "Leftists" are always silent when it comes to Muslims (and Muslim societies as a whole) discriminating against gay people.

Willis Hart: On the Fact that Muslim Bakeries Have Also Apparently Refused Gay Couples While the Media and Liberal Establishment Predictably, Shamelessly, and Moronically Ignore it... It's funny how political grandstanding can often backfire (4/7/2014 AT 8:33pm).

Yeah right. "Leftists" are not "silent" about bigotry against Muslims who discriminate against gay people. It is simply that different societies progress at different rates. We can't expect every society on earth to move toward equality and equal rights for everyone at the same time. Remember that England abolished slavery quite some time before the United States did.

The "Left" (as well as others of differing political persuasions) can and SHOULD criticize those who discriminate (or are lacking in any area when it comes to anyone's basic human rights), but that criticism will go a lot further when directed at those within our own society. Because criticism directed at another society will likely not be appreciated - or even ignored.

Which brings us back to this Muslim bakery, which is located in the United States. As a Leftist I do not find this discrimination acceptable because the bakery is run by Muslim bigots - as opposed to Christian bigots. These Muslim baking bigots SHOULD be called out the same as the Christian baking bigots. And I am 100 percent positive that other Leftists agree with me. Bigotry is not acceptable no matter who the bigot is.

Willis can consider this commentary me breaking my "silence". Now I await his breaking of his silence regarding the aforementioned murder of yet another unarmed Black man by a White cop. Will it happen? It has not yet, and I imagine that Willis - the blogger who posts multiple commentaries a day - is aware of the story, given that he watches a lot of political programming (info I've gleaned via reading his blog).

So if he does not comment on this story I WILL consider it a definite "Silence". And a "silence" with some bigotry behind it. Due to the Hartster's long history of always coming out against the Black victim. In the case of Trayvon Martin killing the biased Willis actually put up more than a dozen commentaries defending the racist idiot George Zimmermann (SWTD #184 & SWTD #187).

And, following his defense of Zimmermann he authored a number of posts defending the killings of Brown and Garner. Which is why - if he decided to defend this latest cop shooting - I would not be surprised in the least. Although, if he does, I still call him out for his bullshit accusation of "silence" from the Left regarding Muslims guilty of gay bigotry. Willis is totally full of shit in that regard.

Full of shit in regard to his defense of the previous cop shootings of unarmed Black men as well. But I would give him props for not defending the murderer of Walter Scott. If he does. But so far? Only silence. And if he does break his silence I do expect some spin regarding the unarmed Black victim being responsible (to a certain degree) for getting shot in the back as he ran away.

Video: Anti-gay & anti-Muslim ex Fox Nooz contributor Steven Crowder dissembles on the "religious freedom" laws passed in a number of conservative states, does a hidden camera "gotcha" to catch a Muslim bakery discriminating and accuses the Liberal media of "ignoring" discrimination by Muslims to focus on Christian bakery discrimination (see here for the website this video was originally posted on).

Video: In video provided to The NYT, officer Michael Slager is seen shooting an unarmed man after a 4/4/2015 North Charleston SC traffic stop. Walter Scott, the victim, ran away and was shot in the back 5 times by Slager.
